WE DID IT!
Our ALL-ORIGINAL musical debuted December 15th, 16th & 17th, 2016, at the historic Lincoln Square Theatre in Downtown Decatur!

The cast and crew of the touring Merry Ol’ Radio Hour prepare for and perform the latest episode of their throwback radio review– the last for broadcast legend Andy “The Kid” Phillips, whose impending retirement throws into motion a story full of heart, humor, and toe-tapping tunes!

With the style and feel of a classic Golden Age Hollywood musical and featuring over a dozen original songs, including several infectious new Christmas numbers,  “A Merry Ol’ Radio Holiday Show” earned high praise and demands of do it again next year from our exuberant audiences!

We didn’t just call this a radio show — it was!

LIVE BROADCAST
December 15th, 2016

With the cooperation of our radio/media partners WSOY and NowDecatur.com we actually broadcast LIVE our full hourlong Act Two radio show-within-a-show!

Our Thursday night audience enjoyed the full theatrical experience starting at 7:00pm, but at 8:00pm listeners tuned in to 1340-AM and heard a good ol’ fashioned live radio review full of songs and sketches the whole family could enjoy!

Head to NowDecatur.com to listen to the podcast of the broadcast. Yes, you’ll hear some technical hiccups during the broadcast buy hey– it was live, it was everyone’s first time doing something along these lines, and the show still sounds pretty dang great!

Something to keep in mind as you listen: When the radio broadcast begins, in-theater audiences have already spent an hour getting to know these characters and their stories. During commercial breaks the show’s narrative is continued off-air, though thanks to one of the above mentioned hiccups you get to hear a taste of that during the first commercial break.

The radio broadcast podcast is a treat to listen to, full of some great Christmas tunes, a few additional songs, fun sketches, a couple of funny faux commercials, and a “Cow Chorale” made up of audience volunteers!
